Aerial View of Redstone Campus
Town:
Burlington
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
1976
Description:
This historic photograph shows an aerial view of South Campus, looking in an eastern direction. In the foreground, a large neighborhood snakes its way through a patch of forest. Each house sits back from the road, and has a long driveway leading from the street to the house. In the middle of the photograph (left side) sits Redstone Campus. From this view, only the Wright/Christie/Patterson, Wing/Davis/Wilks, Mason/Simpson/Hamilton dormitory complexes are visible. Patchy mixed forests surround the campus and the adjacent area. In the background, the city of South Burlington is visible, and appears to consist of numerous dwellings and large sections of forest. On the University side of South Burlington sits Interstate 89, which runs horizontally across the photograph. The season is summer.
