Breeding Barn with Cows
Town:
Shelburne
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
1930 - 1960
Description:
This historic photograph documents the inside of the breeding barn at Shelburne farms. This photograph shows open stalls around the perimeter of the barn, which was used for the storage of animals. Large wooden fences run from the open stalls out in to the barn center, creating four large pens. Inside these pens, numerous types of beef and dairy cattle can be seen. In the back of the barn, two wooden ladders extend from the barn floor to storage lofts. Over the back barn door on the balcony is a set of moose antlers, beneath them is parked a large truck.
