Massive amounts of sediment have been deposited around this covered bridge after the 1927 flood. There is also substantial scour. Note the utility poles and line along the road. Dwayne Garfield writes on 2007-2-11: This is the bridge by Calkins Sand and gravel on Route 5 in Lyndon after the flood of 1927.

Description:
This is a re-shot of a 1927 image showing the Schoolhouse Bridge on Rte. 5 after a flood. The bridge remains but is no longer in use. It stands next to the road by which it was bypassed. Gary Aubin writes on 2013-06-14: This is the Schoolhouse Bridge but not the same bridge as LS03942_000. They were close to each other but spanned different rivers.
