View of Lake Elmore from the Shoreline

Title:
View of Lake Elmore from the Shoreline
Town:
Elmore
County:
Lamoille
State:
Vermont
Date:
1907 - 1915
Description:
The historic image gives a view of Lake Elmore from a grassy field along its shoreline. Camps and buildings are visible on the opposite shore. The landscape is a combination of open fields and forests on a hill. A title at the bottom of the postcard reads, "Lake Elmore, Vt." Marsha Camp writes on 2008-03-16: When you zoom in on this there is a house on the far side of the lake. In this it looks like it is nearly all roof. That house was built by Abel Camp. They refer to it now as the White Elephant House, but it is now owned by a family from out of state. An awesome barn caved in a few years back after a winter of heavy snow.
