Title:
Aerial Photograph of the Black River
Town:
Ludlow
County:
Windsor
State:
Vermont
Date:
1927-11-08
Description:
The historic image gives a bird's eye view of the Black River as it passes through town several days after the 1927 flood. A caption at the bottom of the image reads, "11-8-27-10:15A. Ludlow, Vt." The riparian zone is mostly bare. The landscape around town is a combination of open fields and forests on rolling hills. Smoke pores from a stack at an industrial site on the bottom half of the image. Mill buildings line the river in the center of town. There is a cemetery on a hill on the left side of the image.
