Description:
The recent photograph shows the same area with a substantial amount of development. Several roads and buildings have been added to the landscape. There is a dam across the river. A reservoir has formed behind the dam. Much of the landscape, including the riparian zone, has reforested.

Description:
The historic image shows a bird's eye view of the Lamoille River Valley after the 1927 flood. A caption at the bottom of the photograph reads, "11-12-27, 11:30A, Powerhouse, Milton, Vt." The powerhouse is visible at the bottom of the photograph. The riparian zone around the powerhouse is partially forested. The riparian zone in the upper half of the image is bare, where open farm fields surround the river. There is a small community of buildings on the right side of the photograph.
