The historic image gives a bird's eye view of part of the Champlain Valley after the 1927 flood. Fort Ethan Allen is visible along Route 15 on the right side of the photograph. The town of Winooski along the Winooski River is on the left side of the image. Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains are at the top of the photograph. Most of the landscape in the valley has been cleared for farming.
