Title:
Area by Rest Stop Construction
- Date:
- 1972-08-29
- Description:
- This image shows an area near the construction site for a rest stop on I-89. The image looks uphill from a patch of tall grass toward a road where several cars and trucks are parked. On the right is a concrete wall, and there are signs and barrels lining the road. Behind the truck there are hills covered in coniferous and leafy deciduous trees. Devin Colman writes on 2018-11-02: The object on the far right, described as a "concrete wall," is actually a concrete sculpture by Czechoslovakian artist Rudolf Uher. It is one of a series of sculptures installed at Interstate Rest Areas in 1971. This one is installed at the St. Albans southbound rest area.
