Title:
Abandoned Commercial Building
- Date:
- 1962-09-17
- Description:
- This black and white photograph captures the facade of an abandoned commercial building in Gaysville. A paved, two-lane highway curves up the left side of the image. The commercial building stands on the right side of the road in the extreme foreground. Large display windows open into the first story, and several advertisements are posted along the facade. Two gas pumps stand at the front of the building. Ornate, drop-pendant brackets are visible beneath the eaves. A small dwelling is visible further up the left side of the road. Trees grow to the rear of the dwelling and along the roadsides in the background. Utility poles line the roadway. The season is summer.
