Title:
Abandoned Commercial Building
- Date:
- 1962-09-17
- Description:
- This black and white photograph captures the façade of an abandoned commercial building in Gaysville. The large, wood-frame, hipped-roof commercial building is sited along a paved, two-lane highway that cuts across the lower left foreground of the image. The building is clad in wood clapboards and features large display windows along the first story. A large addition is attached to the right side of the commercial building. A couple gas pumps stand at the front of the old store, and advertisements are posted on the front and side of the building. An auction sign hangs on the façade. Shrubs and trees grow thickly to the rear of the building. Utility lines pass overhead. The season is summer.
