1927 Flood

Title:
1927 Flood
Town:
Waterbury
County:
Washington
State:
Vermont
Date:
1927- 11
Description:
This is a photo of Waterbury during the November 1927 flood. There are leafless deciduous trees dotted through the picture, and houses lining the right side of the flooded road. In between two of the houses there is a utility pole and the water has risen to the first floor of the buildings. A few leafless deciduous trees are visible. Jim Birmingham writes on 2011-12-20: I believe that this is South Main Street in Waterbury. I think that the metal object in the foreground is actually the fire escape of the large building next door.
