Did you know that the checkered house bridge is 350ft. long? In 1927 to 1929 the bridge was rebuilt because it was washed away in the 1927 flood. It took two years to rebuild the checkered house bridge after the flood. There is now a house to the left of the bridge. The house was burned and has boards on the windows, so no animals can get in, no one lives in this house.
