Aerial Photograph of Montpelier

Title:
Aerial Photograph of Montpelier
Town:
Montpelier
County:
Washington
State:
Vermont
Date:
1939-05-10
Description:
This black and white photograph depicts Montpelier from the air. The Winooski river runs along the southern edge of the city. State Street is the major road that runs parallel to the river, along which the Capitol Building is located. Behind the Capitol Building, a wooded hill rises, visible in the center left of the photograph. The city becomes more and more residential further from the intersection of State Street and Main Street, which crosses the Winooski at the third bridge visible from the bottom of the image.
