Description:
The Abraham's building located on the corner of College St and Church St has gone through several changes as shown by the series of reshots of this building over the past 70 years. Today the building is host to Leunig's restaurant and although it is blocked by the tree's foliage, they have replaced the Abraham's sign at the top of the building with their own. Church St itself has changed significantly as it is now an open air market place and as such is closed to everything but pedestrian traffic. This change has allowed the restaurant to add patio seating that would have been too large before the street was closed to traffic. These awnings are made of glass and steel closest to the building (presumably for falling snow and ice) and are vinyl father out. Trees have been planted in the sidewalk along both College St and Church St. The building's facade has been updated slightly but it still retains its original look. A large light post supporting a network of overhead cables dominates the street corner and several people are crossing College St with their dogs. The building in the left of the frame is an obvious addition as are the granite railing posts that support chains meant to keep cars off the pedestrian street. While the deciduous trees are still largely leafless the season is late spring.
