Camels Hump Club Building

Title:
Camels Hump Club Building
Town:
Huntington
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
1912 - 1920
Description:
This historic photograph shows a group of people standing beside the Camels Hump Club near the summit of Camels Hump. The people are dressed in winter clothes (long coats, hats, and scarves) even though there does not appear to be any snow at this location. The man on the left appears to be smoking a cigarette. The surrounding landscape appears to be a mix of bedrock and tundra plant species, as well as large conifer tree species. The Camels Hump club building is wood framed (dated 1912), and appears to have a stovepipe and a door, suggesting it is possible to camp inside the structure. The season is possible spring, summer, or autumn.
