Title:
Angell House
Town:
Burlington
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
1925-03-13
Description:
The back of the historic photograph reads, "Angell House, the old home of the presidents. Situated beside library, and displaced by chapel." In the photograph, an old brick home sits abandoned on top of a hill. Below the hill, a sidewalk and road slope down to the left past a granite hitching post in the foreground. On the hill leading from the road to the building, are a set of cement stairs and a walkway. Large conifer trees and grass occupy the terrace around the building; however, a few maple trees are in frame. The building appears unused and run down, with shrubs and hedges growing haphazardly around the property. The East side of Torrey Hall is visible behind the home. The season is late winter.
