Title:
A view of a Covered Bridge
Town:
Sunderland
County:
Bennington
State:
Vermont
Date:
1960
Description:
This is a black and white negative of a wooden covered bridge on a gravel road. Wood fences border the bridge approach. The bridge has a slanted roof and crisscrossed wooden boards that make up the bridge's walls. To the right of the road are some utility lines. Leafy deciduous trees surround the bridge. A sign on the front of the bridge reads, "One Dollar Fine for Driving Faster Than a Walk on This Bridge." Christopher Weakley writes on 2016-11-11: This is the Chiselville bridge on Sunderland Hill Road in Sunderland. Built in 1870.
