Description:
This historical photograph shows the front entrance to Bailey Howe Library. A paved path leads to the library entrance, which consist of a series of two terraces connected with brief flights of stairs. Lining this walkway are various shrubs and hedges, giving a very professional look to the building. Upon the terraces sit numerous college students, two lampposts, and numerous bicycles. Fallen leaves are visible on the green in the foreground, indicating the season is autumn. UVM Campus Herbert McArthur writes on 2008-01-20: Image most likely 1961 or 1962, when library was new.
