Title:
Felled Tree
Town:
Fletcher
County:
Franklin
State:
Vermont
Date:
1953-07-16
Description:
This image shows two men working on a downed tree with two horses in harness standing in the cleared area by the tree. There is a small shallow creek in the foreground and a dirt road to the left. A cleared area in the foreground has a few boulders scattered throughout the area with the stream below a small slope covered with low shrubs. The stream is filled with several boulders and there are areas along the cleared bank that show erosion. There is no riparian vegetation along the banks. Beyond the stream is the cleared area with the felled tree, men, and horses. There appears to be some sort of small generator running off of the water from the stream in front of the tree. There is a mix of hardwoods and conifers on a hill slope to the right. There is a field on the left side of the dirt road and wire fences line both sides of the road. A farm is visible in the distance with forested hill slopes beyond the farm on the left.
