Large puddle on street
Town:

State:

Date:

Description:
This handcolored lanternslide shows a large puddle in the middle of a very muddy street. There are sidewalks and houses on both sides of the street. This is winter. The trees have no leaves. Utility poles and line run down both sides of the street. There appear to metal hitching racks for horses on the left side of the street and some houses have two story porches. Loona Brogan writes on 2006-12-11: Look at all those (now gone) American elms, lining the street on both sides. I would wager that this is Burlington or Woodstock. Notice there are utility poles. Electric, telephone or telegraph? Sometimes one pole would serve more than one utility need. Esther Munroe Swift writes on 2007-01-16: This is image is definietly not of Woodstock. There is no architecture of that vintage, nor are the streets that wide. Judging from the far back view in the image this area is on something of a hill.
