Photo shows Addison House and town green with a few trees. Note the wooden fence separating the green from the house. Esther Munroe Swift writes on 2005-2-25: Hamilton Child\'s Gazetteer & Business Directory of Addison County c.1882 lists the Addison House on the corner of Pleasant on Court Square, which also had a livery stable, the Western Union Telegraph office, Billiard Hall for the ladies & children, etc..The proprietor Darwin Rider, who was also a county sheriff had a detailed advertisement in the Directory and made a point of the fact that the Rutland & Burlington Division of the Central Railroad had a station in the village with three trains per day going in each direction.
