Description:
Photo shows a block of cut marble being lifted out of the entrance (adit) to the quarry with a derrick and placed on a flat railroad car. There are numerous men in the image. The marble is jointed or fractured and there is a waste pile of rock on the opposite side of the tracks from the quarry. A platform overlooks the quarry which is accessed by a wooden walkway. There are a few trees that appear not to have leaves on the top of the rock slope.
