Description:
This historic photograph shows the Benton Library in Guildhall. The library is a two-story, wood-frame building with a hipped roof. Ornamental architectural details adorn the faťade of the building, including arched windows, a columned entry portico, dentils (the small tooth shaped projections beneath the eaves), and a cupola atop the roof. A wire fence with wood posts surrounds the library. A dirt road cuts across the lower right hand corner of the image, and narrow paths extend from the road past the main entrance of the library. A water fountain sits along the road. Several relatively young deciduous trees have been planted around the library. Hills rise in the background.
