Appleton Property Between Fairlee and Bradford

Title:
Appleton Property Between Fairlee and Bradford
Town:
Bradford
County:
Orange
State:
Vermont
Date:
1969-08-08
Description:
This black and white photograph looks east over the Appleton property, which is located near the future site of I-91 construction between Fairlee and Bradford. A large field sprawls out across the image. A highway curves along the right edge of the field. Utility poles line the highway, and a few trees are scattered along the highway. A large, forested hill rises in the background. The season is summer. John Adams writes on 2014-01-14: this photo is in Bradford and it shows where Rte. 25 was proposed to go a few years later. The road on the upper RH corner of this photo is Rte.25 where it was before improvements. It is now South Main st. or Rte. 25B. It intersected with 25 at the time after crossing over the Waits River on a bridge which is slated to be replaced.
