Aftermath of Ice Storm in Addison County

Title:
Aftermath of Ice Storm in Addison County
Town:
Ferrisburg
County:
Addison
State:
Vermont
Date:
1998-01-10
Description:
A man and a woman stand on an ice-covered road with two dogs. The scene around them is the aftermath of a 1998 ice storm in Addison County. The original metadata for this photograph says that this is the "worst ice storm on record." On both sides of the road there are many tree branches down. The conifer trees are heavy with snow and ice and the deciduous branches are coated in ice. To the right of the road there are wood-framed buildings. The closer building appears to be a shed or a garage and the one that is farther away and partially cut off appears to be a house. In the foreground the wood is not covered with snow or ice so it might be firewood. All image rights reserved to Henry Sheldon Museum, www.henrysheldonmuseum.org.
