A Car Off the Road

Title:
A Car Off the Road
Town:
Cornwall
County:
Addison
State:
Vermont
Date:
1936
Description:
The front of Mr. Calhoun's car has been damaged in the 1936 accident in Cornwall. Having plunged through the wooden fence and into this snowbank, the car's front wheels have been seriously damaged and bent out of shape. The body of the car remains relatively intact. Note the open door, the mud that specks to the car's surface, and the chains on the back tires. In the background we see a snowy field, perhaps a frozen lake, and a wooded hill.
