Canoe on a lake

Title:
Canoe on a lake
Town:
Unknown
County:
No_County
State:
Vermont
Date:
1932
Description:
This historic photograph is of four people in a canoe. There are two men, one in the middle and one to the right. They are wearing trousers, button-up shirts, and black beanie type hats and are laughing. Another person is mostly blocked from view by the man in the middle of the boat. A woman sits on the left side of the canoe wearing a summer dress. She is rowing with oars attached to the sides of the canoe in the fashion of a row-boat. The boat is on a body of water, possible a river, with its banks visible in the background. There appears to be a small slope at the edge of the water and a small beach area, less than a meter wide, with strong riparian growth in the form of hedges and shrubs. The area behind this shrubbery appears to be a trimmed field or lawn, with several houses visible in the distance. Behind these houses there are many tall trees and the base of a mountain. The photo is described on the back as, "The Jamous May, Jerry (1932)" and it is related to a group of pictures of Will S. Monrow, C. 1925.
