Buildings and Fields

Title:
Buildings and Fields
Town:
Wilmington
County:
Windham
State:
Vermont
Date:
1907 - 1915
Description:
The historic image shows town from a nearby hill. The landscape is a combination of open fields and forests on hills and mountains. It looks like summer. The handwritten title at the bottom of the image reads, "Wilmington, Vt." Esther Munroe Swift writes on 2006-3-2: The town of Wilmington is uneven and broken by many valleys and streams of which the largest are the 2 branches of the Deerfield River. This view shows much of that, as well as the beautiful Wilmington village. One part of the town, which was always called Wilmington Leg because of being almost detached from the town was eventually annexed to Dover and now known as The Handle.
