Title:
Burlington Ice Storm
Town:
Burlington
County:
Chittenden
State:
Vermont
Date:
1998-01-10
Description:
Homes on the south side of Brookes Avenue with downed tree limbs and coated in ice. Kelly Hunt writes on 2008-12-29: This picture shows two different colored three story houses on the street, with a third barely seen on the right side. Tree branches which are overhanging the top of the scene are covered in thick ice. Large branches from a tree located in the front on the left side were broken off and lay on the ground. It can be seen how they peeled down the tree, falling onto nearby utility wires which are entangled in the branches and up along the tree. An orange police cone is hiding behind some of the tree’s fallen branches to the left of its trunk. Icicles hang down from the roof of the house in the middle, with small snow piles on each side of the roof of the porch. Snow also covers the ground before the road, which is not seen.
