Looking west on Brookes Avenue. Ice covered homes, trees, road and utility lines. Kelly Hunt writes on 2008-12-29:
This is a picture depicting the after effects of an Ice storm in Burlington in 1998. It was taken near a road looking West on Brooks Ave, with a good sized house located behind a very large tree, and a road to the right of it. The main view is of the large tree with its many branches hanging low due to the weight of ice covering them. A lot of branches also lay about broken on the ground around the tree and hanging a little bit into the road. The utility poles to the right of the road are tilting slightly, with their tops hanging over the street. There does not appear to be too much snow in the area, only a thin layer on each side of the road. All of the trees in the background, to the right of the road and behind the large tree, are covered in ice. The road has some tire marks run through the slush on the left side.
