This photograph is of farmland at Shelburne farms, and part of Lake Champlain. In the foreground we see a wooden stake on the left with cables running out of each creating an electric boundary of the land. Just beyond the fence is a line of dry grass that runs across the picture. There are stakes placed in an uneven line with three on the right connected by two horizontal stakes indicating that a wooden fence once existed there. In the background on the right there are trees running just halfway from right to left stopping just left of the midway point of the photo. On the left are smaller trees that are bare. Beyond those you can see the Lake. Across Lake Champlain are the Adirondack mountains with the smallest and darkest in from and two more receding into the background and disappearing in the fog. Big house to the right of image.
