GSA Short Course "Using & Developing Historical Image Archives"

In October 2009, we taught a short course at the Portland, Oregon national meeting of the Geological Society of America. This short course served as one means of public dissemination for the NSF DTS award (DUE-525046) that supported the Landscape Change Program from 2005-2010. The course presented a history of the archive, described the science students have done, detailed the means by which images are acquired and described, and reviewed the pedagogical materials created under the program. We used a combination of lecture, question and answer sessions, and hands-on activities. There were thirty-one registrants. To view the proposal describing the course click here.
