The Information Technology Support Communications Committee

This committee is a subcommittee of the UVM IT Support Network Committee. It's charge is to solicit, collate and disseminate information regarding Information Techonology initiatives at UVM.

Speaking in broad terms there are two kinds of entities involved in IT at UVM: Providers (those who create or support information technology applications and standards) and Consumers (essentially everybody else). Granted everyone is a hybrid of sorts in that those that produce also consume from other areas, etc, but we don't need to cut the distinctions that finely.

This is a working committee who will proactively pursue opening modes of communication between providers and consumers, consumers to consumers, and providers to providers with the goals of:

• Elimination of duplicate efforts
• Maximization of IT resources
• Enabling the IT consumer with current information and timelines of change on the systems that affect them.
