Make sure you have the latest software updates available for your version of Mac OS. Connect to a wired network, click the Apple menu in the upper left hand corner of the desktop and choose Software Update.
You must be on-campus and in range of a UVM wireless access point to follow these steps.
Click the Wi-Fi icon in the top right menu bar and choose the UVM network.
When prompted for WPA2 enterprise credentials, enter your UVM NetID and password.
When prompted to Verify Certificate, click the Show Certificate button.
Highlight the "radius.uvm.edu" line item, if it's not already selected. Note the green checkmark under "radius.uvm.edu" that says "This certificate is valid".
Click Details to expand the window and scroll down to the Fingerprints section. Verify the SHA1 value reads as follows:

If the SHA1 fingerprint matches the above, make sure the "Always trust 'radius.uvm.edu'" checkbox at the top of the window is checked and click Continue. When prompted, enter your Mac's admin password and click Update Settings.
At this point, a connectioin attempt will be made. Depending on how long the previous steps took, the connection attempt may fail. If so, simply click the Wi-Fi icon in the top right menu bar and choose Turn Wi-Fi Off.
After a few seconds, turn Wi-Fi back on again.
Note that it may take up to fifteen seconds to establish full network connectivity after turning Wi-Fi on and joinging the "UVM" network.
