Wireless Utilities and Files

Automated Configuration:

Automated configuration utilitities are available for supported operating systems.

Macintosh OS X/macOS:

  • UVM Wireless Network Setup Utility (OS X 10.5.8 or later):
    • Use this to set up UVM wireless settings for the first time, to fix problems in getting connected, or if you're not sure which utility to run; this one does it all.
  • "radius.uvm.edu" Certificate Updater (OS X 10.5.8 or later):
    • Installs the current radius.uvm.edu certificate and trusted certificate authorities to the System keychain.
  • 802.1X Profile Updater (OS X 10.7.5 or later):
    • Installs or updates the UVM Wireless 802.1X configuration profile.
  • 802.1X Profile Remover (OS X 10.7.5 or later):
    • Removes any and all UVM Wireless 802.1X configuration profiles.

Certificates:

The certificate to UVM's radius server is downloaded automatically when establishing an 802.1X connection. If you need the certificate prior to authentication (such as when building a disk image), you may download it here:

In order for the radius.uvm.edu certificate to be verified as a trusted, the corresponding trusted root certificates must also be installed on your system. If your system is missing these certificates, you can download them by selecting the links below. The certificates will then need be installed on your computer. In most cases, this can be accomplished simply by double-clicking the downloaded certificate files.
