Wireless (Wi-Fi) Service on the UVM Campus

UVM offers three wireless networks on campus:

• UVM is the primary network for students, faculty and staff, offering high speed, encrypted wireless networking. Sign on using your UVM NetID and password.

  • Mac OS X configuration
  • Mobile device configuration
• UVM Guest (or "GuestNet") is available for parents, friends or other visitors. GuestNet accounts may be created and sponsored by anyone with a UVM NetID.

  Connections to UVM Guest have limited network access to UVM resources. Students, faculty and staff should use the "UVM" network.
• Cat's PAWS is a legacy network for older computers unable to connect to the higher speeds or advanced encryption of the "UVM" network. This network will be retired in the near future.
  • Connections to Cat's PAWS requires signing in with the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client software.
