Windows Users: How to upload your videos

First, you must be authorized to upload videos. Authorization is rather informal: email Wesley Wright in Academic Computing Services, and request to be added to the video group. All material stored on ETS streaming servers is subject to random review to ensure conformance with ETS policies regarding commercial use and copyright. Violators will be removed from the video group, and their material will be removed from the server.

Go to Start => My Computer
From the Tools menu, choose Map Network Drive

Choose any unused drive letter. For Folder Name, use \\real.uvm.edu\video

Then click on "Connect using a different user name"

Enter your NetID and password, click OK. You will return to the Map Network Drive Window.
Click Finish

The video server folder will open. You will note two folders inside: realserver, and quicktime,

If you are uploading RealMedia or Windows Media files, open the realserver folder and -- if you haven't already -- make a new folder inside this realserver folder and give it the same name as your NetID.

If you uploading .mp4 files or QuickTime .mov files , open the quicktime folder and -- if you haven't already -- make a new folder inside this realserver folder and give it the same name as your NetID.

Now Drag or save your media into your new folder, and you are done
