Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions at the University of Vermont
UVM subscribes to a Microsoft volume licensing program for the most commonly used Microsoft software. The Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions program provides the latest releases of the following software for all University-owned computers, and the Home Use Program for faculty and staff working at home.
- Office Standard and Professional, for Windows and Macintosh
- Windows operating system upgrades
- Visual Studio
- Certain specialized software
- Microsoft eLearning Library (MELL)
The Computer Depot will install Office on all new Macintosh and Windows systems purchased by departments. If you are considering installing or upgrading software on existing systems, please consult with your department's or college's information technology support team, if you have one. Upgrade policies and practices will be at the discretion of each college or department. In particular, Windows operating system installations and upgrades should not be attempted without sufficient knowledge and experience.
Most student computers are not covered by EES, but students can contact their specific college or school to determine coverage. All students are eligible for discounts under Microsoft's Select Agreement.
For more information, please see our Frequently Asked Questions. For general information on the Microsoft EES program, please see the Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions website.
