Oracle Calendar Offline Agenda
An Oracle Calendar offline Agenda allows you to view your calendar when there is no network connection available to the UVM Calendar server. This is especially useful for laptop users when they are away from the UVM campus. By default, the offline Agenda is disabled in the Oracle Calendar client. To enable this feature, you will need to update the "unison.ini" file on your system.
Editing the unison.ini file
You can locate the unison.ini file by using the Windows SEARCH
Choose "search for all files and folders"
type in unison.ini
in Advanced options, check Search hidden files and subfolders, as shown below on the left.
The unison.ini file that you want to access is the one that has your NetID in the path. For the user whose screen is shown, that would be the last entry. Look for your NetID in the "In Folder" list and double click that particular unison.ini file.
Open the file and add the following statements if they are not already there:
Save the file, close it, and restart the calendar application.
Example of a successfully edited unison.ini file:
Offline Agenda with new installation
Start Oracle Calendar for the first time. If the unison.ini file has been edited properly, you should be prompted to create an offline Agenda.
Offline Agenda with existing installation
If you've already been using Oracle Calendar and just added the offline Agenda feature, you may be confronted with the message that the offline Agenda was created with an earlier version of Calendar.
Click OK to have it converted to the current version.
Offline Agenda and password changes
You may also be prompted for a separate offline Agenda password, or recieve and error message that your offline password does not match your online password. If this happens, your offline Agenda password will need to be reset. This is done by removing certain offline Agenda files. None of your meetings will be lost by this procedure.
- close the Oracle Calendar client if it is open
- perform a search of your hard disk (see above) for: xtm*.*
- delete the files named xtmlocal.dat and xtmlocal.ndx
- open the Oracle Calendar client and it will automatically rebuild the offline Agenda
Never use the "password change" feature under tools in the Calendar Client. All password changes should be done from the Network ID & Account Management page.
