Computer Donation Program
In an effort to help meet the personal computer needs of two Vermont communities, one recently stricken by the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, UVM began renovating for community reuse personal computers that the university can no longer use.
Thanks to the efforts of UVM's Physical Plant and Enterprise Technology Services departments, the university has donated a total of 58 renovated personal computers to the St. Albans City Schools and the Town of Duxbury to be re-purposed for use in their communities.
Although this is currently a pilot program, we are researching the feasibility of offering this on a more permanent basis. If you represent a nonprofit entity that specializes in re-purposing personal computers or nonprofit community organization with a need for such a resource, please email us at Andrew.Gingras@uvm.edu.
