Research

A top 100 public research university in the United States, the University of Vermont is home to over 1,200 full-time faculty scholars. From biomedical research to philosophy, from data science to musical composition, our faculty members engage daily in the pursuit of meaningful and impactful research, scholarship and creative work. We bring together researchers who are investigating clinical and educational outcomes, to advance the field and shift the healthcare paradigm towards whole-person care.

Our growing portfolio of Integrative Health research is connecting experts from a variety of disciplines across UVM's Colleges, Research Centers, and Units. OCIH Research Affiliates are collecting data on the effectiveness of group health and wellness coaching for UVM and UVM Medical Center (UVMMC) employees and the health economics of this preventive care model. They are actively studying the impact of integrative health programs in the UVM Cancer Center, the UVMMC Comprehensive Pain Program (CPP), and across our University and in the UVM Health Network.
