New employees are required to participate in a comprehensive onboarding program. The program is designed to help ensure that individuals experience a smooth transition into their role at UVM, and provide a forum to discuss a variety of issues related to the climate and culture of the University.
The program is comprised of three separate and distinct sessions on the following topics:
Supervisors register employees for the first session—the Benefits Enrollment Session. This first session will typically coincide with a new employee's first day of employment.
After the Benefits Enrollment Session, Learning Services will schedule faculty and staff for one or both of the other sessions, if they are required to participate in them based on their job classification. (See the chart showing required sessions by job classification.) Those who are signed up for the additional sessions will receive notice of their registration via e-mail.

The session on Sexual Harassment and Bias is facilitated by Jes Kraus and Dana Hutchinson from the Office of Affirmative Action. This session addresses:
Arrangements can be made for employees with disabilities who may require auxiliary aids, services, or other reasonable accommodations in order to view this website effectively, to fill out forms, or to attend orientation.
