Type of Action Definitions 

Use this information to choose the correct Type of Action for staff requisitions in PeopleAdmin.

Recruitment New Position - Recruitment for a new position requiring classification.

Recruitment Existing Position: Recruitment for an existing position as is or where a change in classification is proposed.

Waiver New Position: An opportunity hire for a position requiring classification .

Waiver Existing Position: An opportunity hire for an existing position as it is currently classified or where a change is classification is proposed

Reclassify - Existing Position: A classification review to determine if a change in title is appropriate due to substantial changes in the nature, variety and complexity of the work of an existing position.

Off-Cycle Change in Duties - Existing Position: A base salary adjustment used to address market and equity issues relative to a change in duties of the position. 

Off Cycle Other - Existing Position: A base salary adjustment used to address market and equity issues relative to recruitment, retention and organizational change which does not include a change in the duties.

Position Description Update - Existing Position: Update a position description without changing the position title.
