Family Description: TECHNICAL FAMILY

The Technical Family positions perform a broad range of technical functions in addition to administration and oversight of laboratory and/or field research, multimedia, equipment and instrumentation, environmental safety programs, and services or processes serving students, faculty, staff, and external constituencies.
Technical work is both exempt and non-exempt. The Fair Labor Standards Act covers non-exempt work. A minimum of a High School diploma, specialized training or skills, and one to six years of related work experience is required.

The Technical Family is comprised of four SERIES based on defined bodies of work. Within each Series there may be alternate career progression job standards and standards that are part of a named career progression. There may be more than one career progression in each series.
