Maintenance Family positions perform a broad range of assistance, coordination and oversight of custodial, grounds and pasture maintenance, horticultural activities, routine assistance and care to designated farm animals and routine to specialized equipment repair and maintenance in support of University facilities.
Maintenance Family work is both exempt and non-exempt. The Fair Labor Standards Act does not cover exempt work, whereas the Fair Labor Standards Act covers non-exempt work. A minimum of an elementary education is required.
The Maintenance Family is comprised of one SERIES based on defined bodies of work. Within each SERIES there are alternate career progression job standards and standards that are part of a named career progression. There may be more than one career progression in each SERIES.
