Nature of Work
  • Perform abatement, remediation, decontamination and emergency response functions in support of University hazardous materials programs
  • Follow established guidelines
  • Perform abatement, remediation, decontamination and emergency response functions in support of University hazardous materials programs
  • Use judgment in prioritizing work tasks and in applying work method
  • Provide assistance with oversight of daily operations and design of projects and perform abatement, remediation, decontamination, and emergency response functions in support of University hazardous materials programs
  • Use judgment in coordinating area workflow, prioritizing work tasks and applying work methods.
Expertise
  • Assist in or perform repair, encapsulation, removal and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Perform environmental hazard maintenance activities
  • Perform reinstallation procedures
  • Assist in construction of containment areas using hand and power tools.
  • Use general knowledge and understanding of internal and external policies and procedures
  • Use desktop applications
  • Operate University vehicle on/off campus.
  • Perform repair, encapsulation, removal and disposal of hazardous material
  • Perform and monitor environmental hazard maintenance activities
  • Perform air monitoring and final air/visual clearance
  • Inspect buildings for asbestos and lead containing materials; collect bulk samples.
  • Maintain daily site activity documentation
  • Use comprehensive knowledge and understanding of internal and external policies and procedures
  • Use desktop applications

  • Delegate work assignments and perform removal, and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Perform and monitor environmental hazard maintenance activities

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, one year's experience and specialized certification or ability to obtain within six months required
  • Valid Vermont driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check required
  • Ability to pass physical examination. Tobacco users will not be considered
  • High school diploma, four years’ experience and specialized certification or ability to obtain within six months required
  • Valid Vermont driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check required
  • Ability to pass physical examination. Tobacco users will not be considered
  • High school diploma, five years’ experience to include lead or supervisory responsibilities and specialized certification or ability to obtain within six months required
  • Valid Vermont driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check required
  • Ability to pass physical examination. Tobacco users will not be considered
