Through your honors course work, you'll work closely with outstanding faculty from a range of academic subjects, from political science and English to nursing, business, and education.
Because the Honors College is multidisciplinary, drawing faculty from throughout the university, you may work with honors faculty who also hold appointments in these colleges and schools:
In your first year, you'll meet the Honors College's core faculty, who teach the yearlong course on the pursuit of knowledge. They will discuss the varieties of knowledge and their role in people's lives. They will challenge you to apply your reading and writing to matters relevant to you.
The first-year seminar also invites faculty, administrators, and other professionals from UVM and other institutions to speak in class to honors students and, in a plenary lecture series, to the greater campus community. Through these discussions, you'll be exposed to a wide range of philosophies and research that will complement your course work in ethical theory.
Library Associate Professor Patricia Mardeusz is available to Honors College students to answer questions and provide assistance regarding all library services. Contact Prof. Mardeusz at patricia.mardeusz@uvm.edu or 656-5718.
