Historic Preservation Internships
Most UVM Historic Preservation
Graduate students complete a professional preservation internship
during the summer between their second and third semesters. In
the fall, these students present a summary of their work to the
public at the annual Internship Presentations.
Examples of agencies which have employed University of Vermont
Historic Preservation Program graduate students during their full
time summer or spring internships are: National Trust for Historic
Preservation, National Park Service, New York Central Park Conservancy,
Connecticut Historical Commission, Historic American Building
Survey/Historic American Engineering Record, ICOMOS, Historic
Charleston Foundation, New Jersey Preservation Office, Department
of Defense Legacy Resource Management Program, Savannah Landmark,
Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, Society
for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities, National Trust
Yankee Internship Program, Santa Barbara Preservation Trust, Texas
Historical Commission, Adirondack Architectural Heritage, Baltimore
and Ohio Railroad Museum, Portland (ME) Museum of Art, Greater
Portland Landmarks, Taliesin Preservation Commission, Historic
Pullman Foundation, Lake Champlain Basin Program, Waterford Foundation,
Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana, Stoneyard Institute,
and the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation.
