Methods


    We marked off 3 randomly selected 2x2m (.0004 hectares) plots on a transect line in East woods.

 Within these plots we then identified the species and quantity of herbaceous plants and seedling

<>inside each plot. Then light intensity, canopy cover and ground coverage in and around plot were

measured and recorded. Species of trees, shrubs, and saplings falling within a 0.01 hectare circular

plot were identified and recorded. The ages of identified trees around the plot were found by coring

each tree.
