The barn group counts tree rings on a fallen tree that turned out to be almost 200 years old.
Today, we all headed to the field at Shelburne Farms after our first breakfast in Delehanty Hall. Well fed on eggs, bagels, waffles and fine coffee (the staff that is), we piled on the big yellow bus and off we went. Ok, Ok, Laura had to take the little black car. The day flew by in the 90+ degree heat with students walking through fields, along the shore, and through the woods. We finished the afternoon with a second swim at the Lintilhac's beach and came back to campus for a fine pasta dinner. After dinner, we met as groups, plotted our science for the week and did triangles, a way to get to know each other. Believe it or not, the heat and hard work took their toll. There wasn't a light on in the dorm at 11 pm!
